从寸许的缝隙中窥见横亘山峦的绿色，
透过圆孔看见夕阳的红色。
僧人入定，已超脱尘世，
猿猴藏匿，畏惧风雪。
却怜惜黄庭坚先生，
未能来到这雁荡山中。

A rock towers a thousand feet high,
Leaving but one side hollow and bare.
Through a crevice, I glimpse the green of a horizontal ridge,
And a round aperture frames the red of the setting sun.
The monk, in meditation, has left the human world behind,
While apes hide away, fearing the snowy wind.
Yet I pity Huang the Grand Historian,
Who never reached the heart of the Wild Goose Mountains.
