黄莺啊黄莺，你承载着美好的声音，
羽毛自我珍惜，深藏在山林之中。
春天依傍柳树出现，秋天隐入深林，
山丘角落有树木，你游历知道栖止之处。
以婉转鸣叫寻求友伴，期望深远而非浅近的比附，
出仕与隐退皆有法度，观察者视你为楷模。
你的声音温和啊，和谐动听，
听者内心平静安舒。
黄莺啊，你是一种禽鸟吗？
你是禽鸟中的君子吧。

O oriole, oriole, you bear such lovely songs,
Your feathers you hold dear, deep in the wooded hills you hide.
In spring you perch on willows, in autumn deep woods among,
Where hillside trees stand tall, you know where to abide.
With charming calls you seek a friend, not for a distant tie,
Your coming forth and hiding have measure, a model for the eye.
So warm and gentle is your voice, in harmony it flows,
That listeners' hearts are soothed and find repose.
