古老的州郡依傍着南方的蛮楚之地，
我来到这里担任一个清冷的官职。
年老的我怜惜兄弟们远隔天涯，
生活贫寒却欣喜妻儿平安在家。
趁着春雨，我将菊花分株栽种，
移来梅树，等待岁末的严寒与它相共。
又有家中的书信传递到了这里，
夜深时我点起灯火仔细阅读。

The ancient town leans on the wild southern land,
I come to serve as a minor official, cold and bland.
Old, I grieve my brothers are far away;
Poor, yet glad my wife and children are safe and stay.
I share out chrysanthemums in the spring rain,
Transplant plum trees, waiting for winter's chill to sustain.
Again a letter from home has arrived,
At night, by lamplight, its words are connived.
