雨水阻隔了千山，暮色苍茫。
秋风惊动一片落叶，报告秋的来临。
红润的容颜为沾露的木槿而伤感。
幸有沙鸥那青色的眼珠可堪慰藉。
害怕饮酒，怕它勾起游历扬州的旧梦。
因为作诗，反而点染出心中的忧愁。
我心中有感慨，又能向谁倾诉呢？
多病之身，独自登上高楼。

Rain veils a thousand hills in twilight's hue.
Wind startles a lone leaf, autumn's first sign.
The rosy face grieves for the dew-drenched rose mallow.
But solace comes from the grey-eyed gull's design.
I fear the wine that stirs a wanderer's dream.
And verse that deepens melancholy's stream.
To whom can I confide the thoughts I hold?
Sick and alone, I climb the tower, growing old.
