在玉皇大帝的殿前，我卸下了恩赐的官袍；
羞于看见那高飞的大雁尚且爱惜自己的羽毛。
天地本有心扶持国家社稷，
但朝廷却无意招揽英雄豪杰。
早知道我这刚直的秉性会触犯时下的忌讳，
还不如隐居山林，远避尘嚣来得清高。
不久，秋风将依次吹拂到兰花与菊花；
我回到家中，痛饮美酒，诵读《离骚》。

Beneath the Jade Emperor's hall, I shed the robe of grace bestowed;
Ashamed to see the wild goose, who treasures his own plumes, fly low.
Heaven and Earth have the will to uphold the nation's sacred shrine;
But the Court has no mind to recruit the heroes of the time.
Had I known my straight bone would provoke the jealousy of the day,
Better to hide in the woods and mountains, and keep myself away.
Soon the autumn wind will come to the orchids and chrysanthemums;
I'll return home, drink deep, and read the verses of "Li Sao"'s glooms.
