往昔那些年，我曾疏放地漂浮于江河之上，
而早在此时，我已投身于这方山水之中。
汲水饮用时，正等着鱼儿游入这清流；
垂竿钓鱼时，便如同神龙般自在遨游。
洁净的祠庙没有杀牲血食的祭祀，
喷洒的雨水流过也不带丝毫腥气。
僧人们谈论的都是前朝旧事，
来此的游人全都来自他乡别州。
熟悉的野草长得高过了积雪，
侵袭的流沙仿佛要捐弃这深潭。
究竟我能依靠什幺、栖身何处？
苍茫天地间，难以祈求到明确的答案。

In other years, I'd drift upon the stream, so free,
But early on, I cast myself into this scene.
To draw and drink, I wait for fish to swim upstream;
To cast my line, I join the dragon's roaming spree.
The pure shrine sees no bloody sacrifice at all;
The sprayed-down rain flows on without a taint of gall.
The monks all speak of matters from a bygone age;
The visitors all hail from distant lands, estranged.
The grass, familiar, grows taller than the snow's white sheet;
The sand encroaches, threatening the pool's retreat.
In the end, on what can I rely or rest?
Vast and vague, it's hard to pray for what is best.
