湖上的棹歌声在清晨断绝，
朦胧的暮色归来。
白鹭弯颈窥视如镜的水面，
冻僵的猫头鹰停栖在长满苔衣的墙垣。
在紧闭的帷帐中安坐，
清雅吟诵，刮去砚上凝结的薄冰。
岁末严寒，谁能经久耐守？
唯有那翠竹兄长知晓我的心志。

The hazy evening hues return.
An egret peeks at its reflection in the water-mirror,
A frozen owl perches on moss-clad walls.
