The view from my verse has a lingering taste,
In my cups, free of sorrow, my body finds rest.
But why, through the night, do my dreams never cease,
To visit my homeland with such frequent haste?
The long night delays the moon's passage on high,
Plum's chill lets the secret of springtime slip by.
I moor my boat below the King of Wu's terrace old,
To explore ancient traces when dawn's light unfolds.
