千仞高的峭壁耸立在清晨的寒意中；
不知何年有人在此插下了钓鱼竿。
山间的烟霞不愿沾染官服的污浊；
天地虽大，哪比得上蓑衣斗笠的宽广自在。
有幸曾与天子同车，共享尊贵，
却不妨将脚伸入白云深处，悠然自得。
他的风骨能让汉家朝廷也增添分量，
大可把他与巢父、许由这类高士同等看待。

A thousand-fathom cliff towers in the morning chill;
In what year did a man plant his fishing rod here?
Mists and rosy clouds disdain the stain of courtly robes;
How could heaven and earth be as vast as a straw cloak and hat?
Fortunate to share the honor of the imperial carriage,
He did not mind stretching his feet into the white clouds.
He could make the Han court itself gain in weight and worth,
And may be viewed as one with the hermits Chao and Xu.
