在百丈禅师处继承衣钵之后，
他安顿心神，居住在沃洲附近。
道行高深，使僧众们归来依附；
名声显赫，甚至传到了帝王耳中。
与千峰积雪相对论道，
在万木秋色中安然禅定。
还听说他时常创作新的诗偈，
不时地向四面八方流传开去。

After receiving the robe from Baizhang,
He settled his mind near Wozhou.
His lofty Way drew back the wool-clad companions;
His weighty name reached the emperor's beaded crown.
In dialogue with the snows of a thousand peaks,
In serene meditation amidst the autumn of ten thousand trees.
Yet I hear there are new gathas still,
From time to time flowing out to the four directions.
