我匆忙地开辟出一方幽静的池塘，
涓涓细流被引入这狭小的沟渠。
这里没有地方可以安置岛屿，
但刚刚足够让龟和鱼存活。
鲜嫩的水荇菜正适合食用，
圆润洁净的荷叶正好用来题诗。
时常到来，坐在高大的柳树下，
在枝叶扶疏的树荫里洗濯双足。

Hastily, I open the secluded pond,
Gently, I guide a slender stream to flow.
No way to anchor islands here is found,
Yet just enough for turtles and fish to grow.
Fresh water-shield, so fit for a repast,
Round lotus leaves, so clean, for writing's grace.
At times, I sit beneath the willow vast,
And wash my feet in the dappled, leafy space.
