如同出谷鸣叫的鸟儿，遥远难以亲近，
又像离群断行的孤雁，不能再结伴同行。
议论政事时言辞期期艾艾，仿佛被钳制在口中，
遇到他人时额头紧皱，牙齿几乎咬穿牙龈。
天地如此广阔，他的人生却仍有阻碍，
风雨满布眼前，他却好像充耳不闻。
最令人肠断的是想起天津的邵雍夫子，
在东篱边掩面流泪，独自伫立在孤云之下。

Like warbling birds from the valley, distant and hard to befriend,
A lone goose leaves the flock, no company to attend.
Discussing affairs, his words were halting, held back in the mouth;
Meeting people, his brow was furrowed, teeth gnawing through the gum, in truth.
Though heaven and earth are vast, he still found obstruction and strife,
With wind and rain raging before him, as if deaf to the storms of life.
Heartbroken by Tianjin's Master Shao, his memory I keep,
By the eastern fence, veiled in tears, he stands 'neath clouds lone and deep.
