I laugh at Tao, the Hermit of Willows,
Who planted five willows before his gate.
When they grew tall, he took their name as his own—
But what shade of purity did they truly create?
How could they compare to my two rows of trees,
Forming a path that leads deep into a floral grove?
When spring ends, white catkins drift like felt blankets,
And after rain clears, green screens of leaves warmly clothe.
