Towering, they brush the starry elms on high,
Lofty and grand, distinct from peaks nearby.
Their spirits race to join the Pleiades' light,
Their marvels charted on the River's might.
They catch the sunbeams first, before the day,
They bow to heaven, in a ritual way.
Green vines adorn them like official bands,
Clear winds play flutes with music from their lands.
Their rain showers grace the distant Hua's crest,
Their mists descend to shine on riverside rest.
The monk's window shares not their full display,
The county tower should claim an equal sway.
Vast clouds entwine like sleeves in endless skies,
Falling snowflakes gleam like beards before our eyes.
The giant spirit feels ashamed of power,
The jade maid would serve as a slave this hour.
Rugged and splendid, hard for art to trace,
Uneven in form, yet virtue finds its place.
Their offspring—tiny rocks in streams that play,
Their canes and stools—dry pines by the creek's way.
They scorn the hermit's cave, so plain and small,
They shun the aged sages' hidden call.
Each stands alone, a form by nature wrought,
Their inverted shadows need no support.
To count them shames the Han's imperial claim,
Their names deserve the praise of sage-king's fame.
Mount Song's true peak forms its own loyal band,
The Pillar of Heaven stands alone, so grand.
If only they could follow our desire,
And move them closer to the royal spire.
There, where our sovereign faces south in state,
Ten thousand years of cheers would celebrate.
