六条龙衔着火焚烧天地，
魏王的冰井热得像沸水在煮。
松枝和桂叶凝结呆滞如同痴傻，
热得溪头啸风的老虎气喘欲死。
北溟融化了万丈寒冰，
千斤重的冻鼠热得慌忙如同被蒸。
我听说胡地常年飞雪，
此时却被太阳晒得地皮开裂。
仙芝和瑶草都不敢生长，
湘川的竹子枯焦，美玉般的竹节折断。
西郊虽有美好的云彩却不降雨，
堆叠着青绿也只是徒劳无功。

Six dragons spew fire, scorching the universe,
The ice well of King Wei boils like soup.
Pine boughs and cassia leaves stand stiff as if stunned,
Panting kills the tiger roaring wind at the stream head.
The North Sea melts its ten-thousand-zhang ice,
A thousand-catty frozen mouse scurries as if steamed.
I hear the northern lands are ever covered in flying snow,
Yet now the sun scorches the earth's skin to cracks.
Divine mushrooms and jade herbs dare not sprout,
The Xiang River's bamboos scorch, their jade-like joints break.
Fine clouds gather in the western suburbs, yet no rain falls,
Piling blue upon green is but a futile show.
