待问盈朝日，群生解褐初。

dài wèn yíng cháo rì， qún shēng jiě hè chū。

ㄉㄞˋ ㄨㄣˋ ㄧㄥˊ ㄔㄠˊ ㄖˋ，ㄑㄩㄣˊ ㄕㄥㄐㄧㄝˇ ㄏㄜˋ ㄔㄨ。

太常方奏第，儒馆下除书。

tài cháng fāng zòu dì， rú guǎn xià chú shū。

ㄊㄞˋ ㄔㄤˊ ㄈㄤㄗㄡˋ ㄉㄧˋ，ㄖㄨˊ ㄍㄨㄢˇ ㄒㄧㄚˋ ㄔㄨˊ ㄕㄨ。

出入劳忠荩，襟怀自卷舒。

等待咨询时，他使朝廷充满光彩；

众生初次解脱粗布衣袍，正值他初露头角。

太常卿刚刚奏报了他的科第成绩；

儒馆下达了任命文书。

出入朝廷，他辛劳地奉献忠诚；

胸襟抱负自然能屈能伸。

为何如此早地夺走先生，

不得等到悬车致仕的年纪？

Awaiting counsel, he filled the court with his presence;

All beings first shed their coarse garb at his dawn.

The Minister of Rites just announced his success;

The Confucian academy issued the decree of appointment.

In and out, he toiled with loyal devotion;

His heart's realm naturally rolled and unrolled.

How could Heaven claim him so early,

Not letting him await the carriage hung in retirement?
