秋日的容颜稀疏冷落，转眼已成空寂；
谁能与玄冥之神一争高下、比试雄长？
侵削的老枝已无坚硬的对手可以应对；
栽培玉树般的才俊，本是我家的门风。
徒然夸耀鹤骨般清瘦却飞动矫健；
勉强说起龟肠般迂曲，言辞反倒工巧。
面对此景，只应常常袖手旁观；
待到明年春日景物，再与你一同欣赏。

Autumn's visage, sparse and bleak, turns its head to void;
Who dares vie with the Dark Lord for supremacy?
Old branches, worn and stripped, find no sturdy foe;
To nurture jade-like trees is our family's legacy.
In vain I boast of crane-bone vigor, soaring hale;
Forced to speak of turtle-gut, my words grow more refined.
Before this scene, I ought to keep my hands in sleeves;
Come next spring's verdant sights, we'll share them, you and I.
