The young man is as stout as a coconut tree,
Yet his bosom holds ten thousand volumes with ease.
In youth he trod the bustling world of fame and gain,
Now he returns to build his lodge beyond the dusty plain.
With the vast void as his chamber and the moon his light,
He often meets with noble souls from far and wide.
A humble hut in a poor lane is the world's true delight,
While fine carriages drawn by nags often overturn in their stride.
Sitting still, he gathers floating thoughts to forge this life,
Like refining pure gold, which never decays with strife.
In this, there is originally neither loss nor gain,
What matters then, whether it decays or does remain?
I beg you, sir, to write a line straight from your heart,
To know what is preserved, you must silently comprehend the art.
