它来自丹桂生长的洞窟，

同辈中只有彤管（笔）可与之并列，
它的盟友是墨锭。
湘东地区空谈什么三品笔，
都没有这（松笔）历经岁寒的美名。

I possess a treasure of the study,
None surpasses the clarity of the brush.
It comes from the cave of the cinnamon tree,
And is sealed within the town of Wufu.
Its peers are only the red-tube brushes,
Its sworn ally is the ink stick.
The Eastern Xiang's three grades are but idle talk—
They lack this fame of enduring the winter's cold.
