白话文翻译
昏暗的镜子照不出美好的面容，
贫瘠的土地长不出优良的禾苗。
镜子不仅自己昏暗不明，
更损害人的容颜很多。
土地恶劣，根茎无法生长，
禾苗枯死了，又能怎幺办呢？
如果一定要认识真实的自己，
就擦拭镜子，除去上面的尘埃。
如果一定要得到好的禾苗，
就更换土地，辛勤地耕耘。
怎能像轻浮的年轻人一样，
空诵口舌而不反省自身呢？

A dim mirror shows no face fair and bright;
Poor soil will never yield a wholesome grain.
The mirror not just dims its own poor light,
It mars the looks of others, causing pain.
In evil earth, the roots cannot grow long;
What can you do when seedlings wilt and die?
To know your true self, wipe the dust so strong,
And let the mirror's surface clear and dry.
To reap good harvests, change the ground with toil,
And till the soil with diligence and care.
How can we, reckless youths, our thoughts turmoil,
And chant with mouths, yet never self‑aware?
