拄着拐杖穿着鞋，漫步在斜阳余晖里，
烟雾笼罩的村庄，景色宜人。
溪水幽深，水黾游动得矫健有力，
寒霜浓重，橘子长得饱满丰肥。
舂米完毕，鸡群争抢着黍粒，
行人经过，狗儿朝着篱笆吠叫。
这些田家的子弟真是可怜，
对世间的治乱兴衰从来不曾知晓。

With staff and sandals, I stroll in the slanting sunlight's gleam,
The mist-veiled village scenery is pleasing to the eye.
The stream runs deep, water striders dart with vigor on the stream,
Heavy frost has plumped the oranges hanging branches high.
After pounding rice, the chickens squabble over grains of millet,
As people pass, dogs bark behind the wattle fence's rim.
Pitiable indeed, these rustic lads of hamlet,
Who know not of the world's order or chaos, dark or dim.
