莎草台阶上，寒蝉切切鸣叫，惹人秋思，
清朗的天籁泠泠作响，露气寒凉。
半夜时分云层高悬，月晕喷吐光华，
整个秋季风势紧促，桂花飘散芬芳。
鸟儿受惊于高树，栖息不得安宁，
游子倚靠着空楼，眺望更觉漫长。
遥遥忆起那南去洞庭的客旅，
落叶翻飞，波涛急促，他停泊归舟，暂驻他乡。

The crisp air, pure and cool, is moist with dew.
At midnight, clouds hang high, the moon's halo spills,
All autumn, winds blow keen, cassia scents renew.
Birds startle on precarious boughs, no rest they find,

I think of you southward to Dongting Lake confined,
