我向江南的谢康乐致以问候，
想象你溪边的厅堂前，春日树木想必枝叶扶疏。
我们何时才能再次高谈阔论，看你挥动麈尾？
你向来安步当车，心境从容。
只要能去丹霞山拜访庞老那样的隐士，
又何须狗监之流来举荐司马相如般的才子？
新年里，我更将勉力持守于陵子仲的节操，
与妻子一同锄耕那五亩菜蔬。

I send my greetings to you, Xie Kangyue in the south of the river,
And picture your streamside hall with spring trees lush and fair.
When shall we meet again for lofty talk, your yak-tail whisk in hand?
You've always walked in peace, content with a carriage's stead.
If I could visit the elder Pang in his cinnabar clouds abode,
Why would I need a dog-keeper to recommend a talent like Xiangru?
In the New Year, I'll strive harder to uphold Yuling's noble integrity,
With wife and children tilling together our five acres of vegetable field.
