驾着风沿着塘路回归。
胡人都跃马离去，
大雁却背对着人飞走。
烟水茫茫好似我的故乡，
家书由驿使传来却很稀少。
匆匆（的日光）映照着我的容颜，
只恨不能洗去征衣上的尘垢。

Riding the sun, I enter the frontier wall,
Borne by the wind, I take the pond-side road home.
The Hu all leap on horses and depart,
But wild geese fly away, turning from men.
Misty waters resemble my native land,
Yet letters from home by courier are rare.
Hastily, my face is lit by the light,
I regret I cannot wash my travel-stained robe.
