白话文翻译
国家粮仓里陈年的红色米粟已经损耗殆尽，
却从狡猾老鼠的洞穴中找到了残余的腐败粮食。
此事既已引起丞相的叹息，
又触发了廷尉的愤怒。
将（老鼠的）肉撕碎来喂食饥饿的猫，
把（老鼠的）胡须分出来，与白兔的毫毛混杂在一起。
插在笔架上的笔，像刀枪一样刚健有力，
落在纸上的墨迹，如龙蛇般奔腾飞舞。
事物的道理原本不易追问明白，
时机到来，便自然有所际遇。
老鼠打穿墙壁的行为是何等卑微，
却依托这（鼠须制成的笔）获得了美好的声誉。

The state granary lost its old red grain,
From cunning holes, leftover rot they gain.
It moved the Prime Minister to sigh,
And stirred the Commandant's wrath high.
Shredded meat to feed the hungry cat,
Mixed hairs with the frost-white rabbit, at that.
On the rack, spears and blades stand strong and keen,
On paper, dragons and snakes race, unseen.
The ways of things are hard to reason or trace,
When time arrives, each finds its proper place.
Though piercing walls is lowly and mean,
Through this, it wins a reputation clean.
