颜回安乐于箪食瓢饮的清贫生活，
曾子每日多次反省自身言行。
我闭门谢绝与他人的来往应酬，
安然处在这孤寂的境地之中。
闲暇时你喜爱我这方天地，
望梅止渴般遥想着梅岭风光。
玄妙的谈吐仿佛能穿透月胁，
内心澄澈如对日光明亮炯然。
兴盛衰败这百年间的人事变迁，
短暂得如同弹一下手指的瞬间。
我们这些人都已渐渐年长老去，
精妙的契合犹如形体询问影子。
久久回味方才明白其中真味，
酒终究是比不上茶的清雅韵致。

Yan Yuan found joy in a simple bowl of rice,
Zengzi daily examined himself three times.
I shut my door, declining all comings and goings,
To dwell in peace within this realm of solitude.
In leisure, you cherish my secluded abode,
Your thirst quenched by gazing at the distant Plum Ridge.
Our profound talks pierce through the moon's flank,
My heart, facing the sun's light, burns bright and clear.
The vicissitudes of a hundred years' affairs,
Are but the snap of a finger in time's span.
We, companions, each grow old and wise,
Our wondrous bond is like form questioning its shadow.
Upon long reflection, the truth becomes clear:
Wine, indeed, cannot surpass the subtlety of tea.
