山色对疏棂，之人一似清。

shān sè duì shū líng， zhī rén yī sì qīng。

ㄕㄢㄙㄜˋ ㄉㄨㄟˋ ㄕㄨㄌㄧㄥˊ，ㄓㄖㄣˊ ㄧㄙˋ ㄑㄧㄥ。

水边同妇饮，花下趁儿行。

shuǐ biān tóng fù yǐn， huā xià chèn ér xíng。

ㄕㄨㄟˇ ㄅㄧㄢㄊㄨㄥˊ ㄈㄨˋ ㄧㄣˇ，ㄏㄨㄚㄒㄧㄚˋ ㄔㄣˋ ㄦˊ ㄒㄧㄥˊ。

养鸭期充膳，骑牛学治生。

yǎng yā qī chōng shàn， qí niú xué zhì shēng。

时因把锄暇，毋废读书声。

山色对着稀疏的窗棂，

这个人也一样的清雅明净。

在水边与妻子一同饮酒，

在花下追随着儿女行走。

饲养鸭子期望能充实膳食，

骑着牛学习经营生计。

时常趁着拿锄头的闲暇，

不要荒废了读书的声音。

The mountain hues face my sparse window frame,

This man is just as clear and pure in name.

By the water's edge, I drink with my wife;

Beneath the flowers, I follow my child's life.

Raising ducks, I hope to fill our meals with cheer;

Riding oxen, I learn to manage our living here.

In spare moments when I hold the hoe with care,

Never let the sound of reading cease in air.
