贫穷与疾病因何结缘于我？
它们相伴而来，煎熬着百般忧虑。
粮仓已空，连一担一石的粟米都没有；
为购书借贷，须偿还加倍的钱财。
客人惊讶于我以虫蛀的李子待客；
小偷惊觉，昔日破旧的毡毯依旧。
因此我向才鬼致意，说道：
打算造一艘船，送走这穷困的命运。

What binds poverty and sickness to my fate?
Together they torment me with a hundred cares.
My granary is empty, not a grain to weigh;
For books I borrow, debts at double rates.
Guests marvel at the worm-eaten plums I serve;
Thieves, startled, find my worn-out rug of yore.
Thus I address the ghosts of talent, saying:
I'll make a boat to send my poverty ashore.
