边关之外，岁月峥嵘而萧瑟，
黄河岸边，是一片寂寞的沙洲。
寒冷的云层似乎能忍住不降雨，
高大的柳树勉强率先呈现出秋意。
原野寂静，狐狸出来活动，
沙岸延伸，大雁和野鸭在此停留。
登高临远，景色确实美好，
却没有诗赋可以消解心中的忧愁。

Beyond the pass, the year stands stark and high,
By the river's side, a lonely isle lies bare.
The cold clouds hold their rain within the sky,
The lofty willows force an autumn air.
In quiet fields, the foxes come to stray,
On lengthening sands, wild geese and ducks delay.
Though climbing here, the view is fair and true,
No verse of mine can melt this care I brew.
