秉笔直书的史官空自整理，

这一切只应留给后世去评判，
我三次叹息，搁下了手中的笔。

This man too was lacking in foresight and plan.
A slanderer by the ruler's side wrought ruin,
Zhao Meng stole away before his death.
The honest record lies barren and untended,

With sighs thrice deep, I set aside my writing brush.
