江溜滩滩急，崖腰栈栈新。

jiāng liù tān tān jí， yá yāo zhàn zhàn xīn。

ㄐㄧㄤㄌㄧㄡˋ ㄊㄢㄊㄢㄐㄧˊ，ㄧㄚˊ ㄧㄠㄓㄢˋ ㄓㄢˋ ㄒㄧㄣ。

天深罕见日，路险不容尘。

tiān shēn hǎn jiàn rì， lù xiǎn bù róng chén。

远草夤缘绿，幽花落漠春。

白话文翻译

江水湍急，流过一滩又一滩，

悬崖半腰，栈道层层都是新修的。

天空深邃，难得见到太阳，

道路险峻，容不下半点尘埃。

远处的野草攀附着显出绿意，

幽静的花朵寂寞地点缀着春色。

遇到渡口何必询问路径，

我自己知道该从哪里渡河。

The river's flow rushes over shoal after shoal,

New plank paths cling to cliff after cliff along the wall.

The sky is deep, rarely does the sun appear,

The road is perilous, hardly allowing dust to fall.

Distant grasses, clinging and twining, show their green,

Secluded flowers, lonely and sparse, hint at spring's call.

Meeting a ford, why must I ask the way?

For I myself know where the crossing lies, after all.
