人们喜爱山中清幽美好的气息，
我却感叹大禹治水功业的伟大。
遥想那龙门山未被开凿的往昔，
放眼望去，到处都是一片洪水。
有谁能想到这些耕田种桑的百姓，
竟能幸免于沦为鱼鳖的命运。

Gazing south, the view stretches a thousand miles.
People admire the mountain air's delight,
But I sigh at the beauty of Yu's toil.
Imagine the time before it was hewn,
As far as the eye could see, all was flood.
