托鸿雁之足寄来了珠玉般的书信。
我学道的情怀难以始终笃定，
炼制丹药的功力尚且微薄。
云中的鸡犬依然还在，
只等候着主人的归来。

In years past, we parted near the capital's bound,
I dwelled in mountains, from the common crowd unbound.
Your heart is like the pine and cypress, steadfast and true,
By wild goose's foot, you sent me pearls of words anew.
My zeal for Taoist ways is hard to hold sincere,
My strength for alchemy is still slight and unclear.
The cocks and dogs in clouds are waiting there, I hear,
Only for their master's return to reappear.
