我们一同来到这隐居之地，探求圣贤的深谋远虑，
却恰好目睹诸侯争国、誓师聚众的场面。
以生活在商汤周武动干戈的时代为耻，
宁愿死在唐尧虞舜拱手揖让的国度。
大义充盈于身，安于饥饿又何妨？
清白的魂魄有所归依，应当不会泯灭无存。
他们的选择贯穿天地，超越时间的前后，
名声与骸骨虽成双，但这条道路却孤独无比。

Together we came to this retreat, seeking the sages' plan profound,
Just to witness states contend and armies rally on the ground.
Ashamed to live in times of Tang and Wu, with wars and spears,
Rather die in the lands of Yao and Shun, where courtesy appears.
With righteousness fulfilled, the body's hunger is no pain;
The pure soul, having its aim, shall not have died in vain.
Throughout all time and space, their choice stands beyond before and after,
Though their fame and bones are paired, their path is lonely ever after.
