一个饭钵，一根藤杖，
我在清净虚空中度过此生。
不贪求外物便是最珍贵的宝物，
可以轻贱看待的是那虚浮的名声。
关上门户，闲适的身心自有乐趣；
登上山野，漫步的步履轻快自在。
溪边的老翁与林中的叟老，
他们才懂得我这老夫的情怀。

A single bowl, a single staff of vine,
I pass this life in purity and peace.
Not coveting is the most precious treasure,
And what can be debased are floating names.
Closing my door, I enjoy leisure and ease;
Climbing the mountain, my rustic steps are light.
