曾听说友谊牢固如胶似漆，
也有人说它美好如金兰之交。
君子看重的是友谊的善终，
小人却在开始时就会改变初衷。
应当效仿管仲与鲍叔牙那样的知己，
千万不要成为李益与巨无野那样因利而交最终反目的朋友。

To make a friend, shared heart is the key,
Hearts in accord are hard to set apart.
I've heard of bonds as firm as glue and lacquer,
And also praised as gold and orchid's art.
A noble man will see it to the end,
A petty man will change from the very start.
Be like Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya, true and fast,
Beware of Li Yi and Ju Wuye, a friendship doomed from the first.
