微波粼粼，与宁静相得益彰。
避开世人，酬答橘林的幽隐；
邀请明月，赋诗抒发胸中情怀。
仙鹤从华表柱上飞来，
客人到来，唱着《竹枝词》。
谢家的芝兰玉树固然丰茂，
却不如这锦缎包裹的孩儿（指新竹）。

An acre sways with Xiang's green hue,
Rippling and tranquil, perfectly suited.
Avoiding men, I repay the orange grove's seclusion;
Inviting the moon, I compose verses to express my heart.
A crane arrives from the ornamented pillar,
A guest comes singing the 'Bamboo Branch' song.
The Xie family's orchids and jade are abundant,
But not like this child wrapped in brocade.
