手指寒冷时正好剖开初破的柑橘，

在火堆边我们相互倚靠着，
火将尽时，又添上新的柴薪。

Preparations for the year's end feast are done, pure and fitting to the heart.
Wild plates hold strings of persimmons, evenly set apart.
A rustic meal is cooked with pine twigs as fuel in the hearth.
Fingers chill as the tangerine is first split,
Red embers bury sweet potatoes in their warmth, bit by bit.
By the fire we lean on each other, close and dear,
When the fire dies, more firewood we add here.
