新生的竹笋长满栏杆，秀美繁茂；
高耸的竹竿如天柱，直插云霄，气势奇伟。
竹荫笼罩着僧人坐禅的岩石；
竹根蔓延，侵入了清洗砚台的水池。
竹节如美玉般伸展，表面似有白粉；
枝条盘曲低垂，仿佛虬龙般郁结有力。
怎敢说桃花李花能与之相比？
面对竹子雪后清雅的姿态，它们只会感到羞愧。

The sky-propping pillar towers through the air.
Their shade locks the stone where meditation's deep;
Their roots invade the pool where inkstones steep.
Jade-like joints stretch out, powdered white and clean;

How dare I speak of peach and plum trees' grace?
They shame the look of snow in its resting place.
