你漂泊不定，究竟停留在何处？
大概要在那里度过这残冬了。
你隐居的小屋我曾到访，
但报平安的书信却许久未通。
自怜我的心容易衰老，
如同盘曲的寒松一般。

The setting sun glows over the river's eastern shore.
Thinking of you, I ask the fair wind for news once more.
Where have you settled down, in what place do you stay?
I reckon you'll pass there until winter fades away.
To your small hermitage I once did make my way.
But letters bringing peace have long been kept at bay.
I pity my own heart, so easily grown old.
Like a cold pine, twisted and bent, its tale is told.
