但它本身是凌云之材。
不再有鸾凤前来栖息聚集，
只剩下鸟雀飞来聒噪。
谁能像仙人许长史那样，
拔宅飞升，远离尘世的污浊？

Lush and green, the cypress in the courtyard stands,
From what year was it transplanted to these lands?
Though it has lost its nature of the wild,
Its timber still soars to the clouds, undefiled.
No longer do phoenixes gather in its shade,
Only sparrows and common birds now invade.
Who, like the immortal Xu, will rise with his abode,
And cleanse this world of its dusty, heavy load?
