长久以来畏惧夏日的酷暑，
欣喜地遇到了这秋天的夜晚。
急雨掠过了修长的竹林，
凉风吹动着傍晚的莲花。
难道说那莎草间的蟋蟀鸣叫，
能接续衰柳上寒蝉的吟唱？
如何才能得到那九皋的仙鹤，
用它清越的鸣叫声，让我心神顿时洒然清爽。

How I delight in autumn's night so fair!
A sudden rain sweeps past the slender bamboo,
Cool winds sway the lotus blooms late there.
Could it be that crickets in withered grass,

With its clear cry, cleanse my spirit now.
