自从我来到这学宫，便关起门来，
断绝了所有的交游往来。
只有一两个研习经书的学生，
像长庚星陪伴着残月一般。
水边的芹藻兀自青青地生长，
有谁与我一同去采摘呢？
只有在流水泼泼作响的地方，
才能见到源头活水的生机。

Since I came to this school, I've shut my door,
And cut off all my social ties and calls.
A few classic scholars, not many more,
Like the Long Star that with the waning moon falls.
The water plants grow green on their own way;
Who will come with me now to pluck and glean?
