Among the rushes lives a maiden named Cui Hui,
Light as the southern hills' kingfisher, fair and free.
The governor then doted on her most of all,
And in his seat, before his guests, would hold her tight.
At sight of Master Pei, her heart was drunk with love;
At night she doffed her silken robe for the gate guard.
In West Gate Temple, joy knew neither end nor bound;
The Music Bureau sings of kingfishers till now.
