这个县城还保留着古朴淳厚的风气，
您此行前来担任这里的长官。
即使法令严密如三尺之网，
终究要留有一分宽仁的余地。
像陶渊明归隐栗里或许还比较容易，
但要像朱邑那样深受桐乡百姓爱戴却极为困难。
千座青翠的山峰环绕着城郭，
闲暇时，我想象着您凭栏远眺的情景。

This town still holds the simple ways of ancient times,
You journey here to serve as its chief magistrate.
Though laws may be as dense as a three-foot net,
There always will be room for a touch of lenient grace.
Returning to Chestnut Village would be somewhat easy,
But winning the love of Tongxiang is a most difficult task.
A thousand peaks, their verdure winding round the city walls—
On days of leisure, I imagine you leaning on the rail.
