世浮见此拙,坐觉幽兴聚。
丹楹惜异时,蒉桴想淳古。
君年比予少,能亦珍此否。

形体浑全出自陶窑烧制,质地质朴胜过罂甒等器皿。
敲击它们发出疏落的声音,常常合乎商、羽的音律。
这声音得来仿佛是天赋,无需询问盲乐师。
我野逸的心深深喜爱,取来安置在林间屋宇。
竹梢奏起清风,好似欢喜与这佳物为伍。
推起头巾,拄着竹杖,与它们一同涤除酷暑的毒热。
在这浮世见到如此拙朴之物,顿觉幽雅的兴致汇聚。
丹漆楹柱令人惋惜那不同的时代,土鼓让人想起淳朴的古风。

Returning from a trip to Nanchang, a guest brought me four earthen drums.
Whole and complete from the kiln's firing, simple and plain, surpassing fine vessels.
Striking them releases scattered sounds, often hitting the shang and yu notes.
The sounds come as if gifted by heaven, no need to consult a blind musician.
My wild heart loves them utterly; I take and place them in the wooded courtyard.
Bamboo tips play a clear breeze, seeming to rejoice in these fine companions.
With scarf pushed back, leaning on a bamboo staff, I share with them relief from the poisonous heat.
In a floating world, seeing this simplicity makes my secluded delight gather at once.
Vermilion pillars regret a different age; straw-stuffed drums recall ancient purity.
You, younger than I, will you also treasure this?
