汉代儒者专守一经,学者如云般追随。
传承习学虽然未尽完善,但模范法则有根基。
缙绅立于朝廷之上,开口应对万千机务。
附和对答都依据经典,像金石般坚定不移。
学问烂熟方能洞见本末,彰明较著不可欺瞒。
我希望下令给学官,为每一经设立专门的经师。
务必穷尽道德学业,不取章句辞藻的雕琢。
这样或许往昔贤人的风范,能光明地再次在此显现。
The way of teaching long has languished, petty scholars all seek their own gain.
They break the cliff to find sharp edges, striving to show their novel strain.
Sadly, we're far from sages' wisdom, Six Classics by Qin's fires were slain.
Without transmitted learning's guidance, how can mere browsing bring any gain?
Han scholars each held to one classic, followers like clouds came in train.
Though inheritance was not complete, a model's foundation did remain.
Officials stood in court and council, opening mouths to myriad affairs in chain.
Their responses all based on classics, firm as metal or stone, unchanging and plain.
Thorough knowledge shows start and finish, clearly, none can this truth profane.
I wish the learning officers below would each establish a classic's teacher again.
Strive to exhaust the moral enterprise, not cling to phrases, chapters' vain.
Then perhaps the ancients' spirit, bright and clear, might in this age remain.
