依依不舍地经过下牢渡口，
古老的戍楼巍峨耸立，郁郁苍苍。
进入峡谷，江流渐渐变得曲折，
转过险滩，眼前的山峦更加繁多。
白色的沙洲上飞过白色的水鸟，
青翠的山峰与碧绿的藤萝交相掩映。
被贬谪的旅人初次经过此地，
满怀愁绪，写下这楚地风格的悲歌。

Lingering, I pass the mouth of Xialao Ford,
Where ancient battlements loom rugged and high.
Entering the gorge, the river's course bends toward;
Rounding the rapids, more mountains greet the eye.
White sandbars see white birds in flight,
Green screens are veiled by verdant vines.
An exile first treads this land, a sorry sight,
And pens his plaintive song in southern lines.
