此生已老,愈发漂泊无依;
此身如同寄居,岂敢奢求安定;
This life of mine grows old, more adrift and forlorn;
Where will I be next year, to eat my soup and bread?
This body is but a lodging—dare I seek a settled morn?
I'll build a small studio, and 'Lodge' shall be its name instead.
Who can call at the palace gate to speak with the Emperor for me?
A guest, laden with hardships, is what I've come to be.
The water-flowers, for this guest, weep red rain in the stream.
