雪已消尽，它们在暖风中翻飞；
寒气收敛，它们在凉月下度过。
理应一直飞到秋天，
依旧返回潇水和湘江。

When spring arrives at Hengyang, the wild geese,
Yearning to return, face the long frontier road.
On sandbars they all flap their wings together,
Across the sky they form their orderly lines.
Snow melts, they turn in the warming breeze;
Cold recedes, they pass under the cool moon.
Surely they will fly until autumn days,
And then return once more to Xiao and Xiang.
